Nature Nate’s Raw and Unfiltered Honey Review

Honey is a very valuable and powerful resource. However, not all the nectar is as good as the next. Raw honey is said to be the best and most healthy honey of all. Raw honey means that it is completely unpasteurized, unheated, and all together unprocessed. This means that none of its natural vitamins and nutrients are destroyed. Raw honey found in the stores can be pasteurized. With Nature Nate’s honey, that is not the case. Some of the most common benefits of raw honey are that it can balance blood sugar, treat acne, help relieve allergies, provide energy and even aid in sleeping.

Humans use this sweet nectar and its benefits for over 10,000 years. The first use is documented to be in Egypt. It wasn’t until the middle of the nineteenth century when Lorenzo Langstroth designed the so-called collateral hive. That revolutionized the domestic beekeeping. Humans finally discovered the use of honey.

I have tasted quite a few brands of raw nectar and this is definitely one of the most flavorful. I have used it in all sorts of recipes including it in my morning power slushy. It adds a delightfully sweet taste. You can actually taste the difference between Nature Nate’s Honey and processed honey.

Raw honey is thinner than processed honey.  But, don’t forget about the syrup. Yep, that’s right. Nature Nate also offers a line of delectable Honey Syrups. Our favorite is the Honey Strawberry Syrup. Nature Nate’s Honey Syrups are gluten-free, all natural and contains no additives such as high fructose corn syrup.

Nature Nate’s raw, unfiltered honey and found a plethora of beauty benefits with the product after looking into what makes raw/unfiltered so much better than regular honey brands.  Natural foods are quite possibly the most overlooked source for beauty regimens and skin solutions. The same nutrients and health benefits some foods provide our bodies can also be applied externally to help moisturize, soothe irritations, clear up acne, and even zap away signs of aging.

Nature Nate’s Honey provides 100% pure, raw and unfiltered nectar that maintains the natural enzymes and antibacterial qualities lost in most other honey brands. Combined with commonplace items found in your fridge, food on your face could be the easiest, most effective and natural solution for glowing, healthy skin. Here are a few ways to test the theory:

Dry Skin/ Acne

After years of struggling with acne and dry skin, Lori at Laurel of Leaves experimented with this face mask once learning about all of the benefits of raw, unfiltered honey. Recommended for daily use for at least two weeks to start, we’ve found this regimen to do the trick:

Honey Face Mask

  • Apply a thin layer of raw, unfiltered honey to clean face and leave on for 10 minutes to an hour.
  • Rinse off with warm water, pat face dry.
  • Follow with coconut oil to moisturize (coconut oil is antibacterial as well).

Oily Skin/ Acne

An effective remedy against oily skin and acne, this mask is designed to pull excess oils while also lifting and tightening your skin. Nature Nate’s raw will soothe any blemishes/irritations while softening the skin. Egg whites have been proven to be astringent, therefore helping with acne and/or oily skin. Oils in the skin are pulled from pores as the egg white dries. This drying agent combined with the moisturizing and antibiotic properties found in raw honey make a perfect defense against acne and oily skin.

Honey & Egg White Mask

  • Combine 2 tablespoons of raw, unfiltered nectar with one organic egg white and apply over clean face.
  • Leave mask on skin 10-15 minutes as you feel the egg tighten.
  • Rinse with warm water.

This Lemon-honey scrub makes the lips smooth, followed by a coconut oil salve that softens the lips. Lemons, a natural skin exfoliator, will give this scrub an extra boost when combined with sugar and the sweet nectar.

  • Mix 1.5 teaspoons of the nectar with 1.5 teaspoons sugar and juice from? Lemon.
  • Rub over lips with a finger in a circular motion to exfoliate; rinse.
  • Combine 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, contents of 1 vitamin E capsule and 1 drop lemon essential oil in another bowl.
  • Dab on lips to moisturize. Extras can be kept in the fridge for a week.

This honey goes great with everything. You can put it on pancakes, use it in your tea or coffee, eat it raw, use it for colds and allergies, honey sandwiches etc. You can also use it as a face and body scrub mixed with some sugar or other ingredients.

Whatever you do you can’t be wrong – honey is perfect for everything.
